All Roads Lead to Graduation
Our Community |
Founded in 1890, Eastern, an International Baccalaureate World School, provides engaging, college preparatory coursework and extra-curricular learning experiences to ensure all students graduate with the content knowledge, character, and confidence to serve as innovative, inclusive global leaders. Eastern and its middle and elementary school communities serve a diverse community of more than 6,000 students from across Washington, D.C.

Every year, more than 1 million students delay graduation or drop out of high school at a great cost to themselves and their communities. In the District of Columbia, after several years of significant growth, only about 69% of students will graduate on time. Even among DC high school graduates, unemployment rates hover near 20% and many who attend college require remedial coursework, indicating many graduates lack the skills they need to succeed.
Through our All Roads Lead to Graduation project, we are working to change the equation for this community. At Eastern and its community of middle and elementary schools, we invest in people and programs to help students stay on the path to graduation and to, ultimately, succeed in college or the workplace.
