The We’re Behind You scholarship fund was created by two alumni of Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts (PHSCFA) in Baltimore, MD to benefit a graduating senior who has left a lasting impact on their school and community.

When reconnecting years after graduating from high school, co-founders Ashley Fassell (c/o 2003) and Ashley Reynolds (c/o 2004) recalled their time at PHSCFA and agreed their lives were significantly impacted by the opportunities, advice, and support received from teachers, guidance counselors, and coaches. Similarly, the two were reminded of how critical the scholarships they received were in making college affordable. In 2017, Ashley and Ashley created a scholarship fund as a way to give back to the school and ease the financial burden of college for a deserving student who is inspired by the act of giving to others.

Recipients of the scholarship will have demonstrated a financial need for college tuition assistance and achieved a balance of academic success, leadership ability, and community service in his/her time at PHSCFA. It is the hope of the founders that the recipient of the scholarship recognizes the significance of social responsibility and the importance of assisting others in their community. Although not a requirement, this award will hopefully inspire the recipient to give back to others in their community - "paying it forward" in his or her own way.
